 Vodka Sauce Pizza.......the very best!

Brick oven style pizza---with fresh mozzarella to die for.

From California--my cousin Amy--first time in NYC

Joel, Kelly's fiance, enjoying his first time on the blog!

My mom flew in for pizza and the show.

Amy's husband, Dan, loved the pizza.  Duh. She wouldn't marry an idiot.

A bunch of us met in NY a few weeks ago to see the final weekend of In The Heights on Broadway.  The show was incredible, but this is a pizza blog so I should get to the pizza part.
My sister and I had been to Pomodoro's in Nolita a couple of times for a slice of their famous vodka sauce pizza.  We liked the pizza a lot, so decided to take everyone there that day.  We ordered a large pie of the vodka sauce pizza and a large brick oven style pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce--you know, the usual.  The brick oven style was really good, but unfortunately for that one, we had all tried the vodka sauce pizza first and fell head over heals.  I mean, the sauce has a bit of a kick, but not too much.  They use fresh mozzarella, which makes it sooooooo much better.  And the crust.  The crust was thin and crispy and tasty and yummy and all the other good things I can't even think of to describe it.  I've gone in and ordered a slice before, but this was worth ordering the whole pie.  The crust is way better fresh out of the oven.  We are going to NY for Kelly's bachelorette party and that is really the only place she cares about going.  And I, being the good sister and maid of honor, have no choice but to honor her wishes and go too!  I mean, it wouldn't be right not too.  You should go too.  It's worth the trip!!
