Matchbox

Seriously awesome sliders with onion straw thingees that were amazing. And I don't like onions.

Fire and Smoke pizza......I did not partake in this one.

Jenny's first real night out after back surgery....it was rough, but fun.

Jessica showed up late and was jealous of Chris' pizza.

Dave and Chris devoured the Fire and Smoke pizza.

Spicy meatball pizza. I wish I had gotten just cheese.

I didn't know how spicy it was, so I'm smiling.

Kelly likes spicy, so she didn't mind.

Mike and Jess got just cheese and onion.

Finally, Jessica gets to eat pizza. Until she got hers, we gave her our crusts.

Michael was happy to eat pizza even though the Capitals lost. It has to happen sometimes.

Last Friday, we all went to try Matchbox pizza, which I'd heard was the place to go. Apparently everyone else thought that too, because we waited an hour and a half for a table. Don't worry, they told us how long it would be and we got some drinks and we survived. When we finally sat down, we ordered the 3.6.9.miniburgers. And OH.....MY....GOD. We couldn't have eaten them faster or enjoyed them more. They pile on these wonderful onion straws and even I ate them. I don't even like onions, but these were just pure bliss. All in all, a good start to our eating experience.

Kelly and I split the Spicy Meatball pizza. I asked for them to leave off the crushed red pepper on my half and they said the meatballs weren't that spicy. They were wrong. I don't know why I didn't just stick to what I know, but I was feeling adventurous and I went for it. I can't really even comment on the crust, because I was too focused on how spicy I thought it was. Kelly really liked it, but she'll drink a cup of the hottest hot sauce without stopping and without a drink for 5 minutes on a dare. (She actually did it for a bet and won $75.) Dave and Chris chose the even spicier Smoke and Fire pizza. No thank you. But again, they like spicy and they liked the pizza.

Jenn, Jessica and I each had their pomegranate martini and loved them. It was the best drink I have ever had. It could turn me into a real drinker. We also ordered some desserts. Kelly, Michael and I ordered the trio, which consisted of 3 sorbets (I didn't eat because I don't like frozen things), molten chocolate cake, and cinnamon doughnuts. I love doughnuts always and there is nothing wrong with anything molten or chocolate. We left very satisfied!!

I guess my review is actually lacking as far as the pizza, because I will have to go back and get the cheese ONLY, so I can focus properly. Oh well, I guess I'll have to go back and have those sliders again too. I'll do it for my readers....totally self-lessly!! You're welcome.
